Langkawi, June 2017 – Berjaya Langkawi Resort unites and distributed Bubur Lambuk to the local community of Kampung Felcra, Pantai Kok on Tuesday, 13th June 2017.
In conjunction with the fasting month of Ramadhan, the resort’s General Manager, Mr. Chris Niuh along with the head of respective departments gathered as one and took to the road with flashy smiles stopping traffic as they busily distributed Bubur Lambuk to passing motorists and cars in front as a part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program.
Mr. Chris said the objective of this effort is to share the joy of ‘Buka Puasa’ with the public and to strengthen the relationship between the local community and the resort’s associates. He added it is also seen as a way of spreading the goodwill during the Islamic holy month.
A total of 500 containers of Bubur Lambuk were cooked by the resort’s Executive Chef, Loke Boon Seng along with his trusted kitchen helpers and the resort staffs using his very own special recipe of Malay porridge, a dish much sought after for buka puasa.
The Food & Beverage Department started the cooking preparation for the Bubur Lambuk beginning at 11.00am in three large pots followed by the packing at around 2.00pm. The packets were then distributed at 5.00pm to the public including those in vehicles passing in front of the Kampung Felcra road.
Road users were surprised and very pleased that such event was arranged by the resort during the fasting month. With great support and team effort, the overall cooking, packing and distribution of Bubur Lambuk was a great success.
